Taking a "long, loving look at the real" in community

There are times you may want to experience spiritual direction with others. Group spiritual direction involves a spiritual director and at least 2 other people participating. There are many ways a spiritual director can lead this group. Here are two of the most common:

One for All -- The spiritual director spends a short amount of time with each participant in direction while the others listen and pray. This model gives the individuals in the group a taste of spiritual direction for themselves and allows them to listen in as others share their sacred stories. There is, however, no cross-sharing among participants.

All for One -- The spiritual director moderates while one person, a focus person, shares their experience or story and the other participants listen and offer observations, questions and encouragement when invited. This model allows individuals a chance to serve as a spiritual director for one another. Since that is the case, some training is usually involved in the first session. The Quaker communal discernment process called Clearness Committee is a type of group spiritual direction. Teresa is skilled at facilitating this process for groups or individuals.

Teresa is available to lead your group in a spiritual direction session. Also if enough individuals express interest, a special spiritual direction group may be formed.
